“城市建设的加速器”之称，是现代生产性服务业的重要组成部分，亦是构建现代市场体系和开放型经济体系的重要平台。目前，中国城市会展业发展不平衡，会展竞争力的相关衡量指标较多，中国会展经济研究会推出的年度“中国城市会展业竞争力指数”，成为行业最具权威性的城市会展业竞争力指数报告。本文以中国城市展览业发展综合指数归纳出厦门会展业的优势与劣势，并建议厦门增加展览数量、展馆数量、境外展览数量、境外办展主体数量、IAEE组织成员数量、IAEE个人成员数量和公众公司数量，以提高厦门的会展竞争力。

The convention and exhibition industry is known as the “accelerator of urban construction”. It is an important part of modern productive service industry as well as an important platform for building a modern market system and an open economic system. At present, China's urban exhibition industry development is unbalanced and there are many related measurement indicators of exhibition competitiveness. The annual “Chinese Urban Exhibition Industry Competitiveness Index” launched by China Convention and Exhibition Society（CCES）has become the most authoritative report. This paper summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of Xiamen's exhibition industry by the comprehensive index of the development of China's urban exhibition industry, and suggests that Xiamen increase the number of exhibitions, the number of pavilions, the number of overseas exhibitions, the number of overseas exhibition subjects, the number of IAEE members, the number of individual members of IAEE and the number of public companies so as to improve Xiamen's exhibition competitiveness.
